Question: What was the context of events in which Ps 71 was written? Did David write it? I know later in the chapter the writer speaks of playing the harp - as David did.
The last verse is where the congregation and I seem to be we are in a state of praise. And for us it needs to be a continual state. Praise the name of the Lord! We are ready to do God's will! I must remember that we can't stay on the mountain top, we must come down and do the work in the valley.

Another opportunity, coupled with the Jeremiah passage for the week, to preach an anti-abortion message. Please check out the Frederica Matthewes-Green column pointed out in the Jeremiah text.
Those who stress the social Gospel should especially be standing up for the most innocent among us, the weakest and most defenseless. If God creates us in the womb, knitting us and knowing us, how can we not defend the un-born. It seems un-conscionable that those who wear the clerical collar would be pro-abortion, much less strident about it.
