God does not deal with us according to our iniquities? So what about the pop religion idea that Jesus had to die for us because somebody had to die for our sins? What about the idea that everyone is a sinner and therefore deserves death and a penalty has to be paid and only Jesus dying on the cross can pay this penalty?
What about this idea of original sin? I recently heard a biblical scholar who is also a scholar of Aramaic who said this Christian notion of original sin is totally contrary to Jewish understanding. What they hold to be true form the creation story is the idea of ORIGINAL BLESSING!

Seem backwords? Usually we think in terms of our being blessed by God. Here Our souls bless God!
So what is blessing? Is it: love, good will, adoration, possitive energy, joy, higher consciousness, favor, or even a gift of good karma? What does it mean to bless?

Is "atonement" a pop religion idea? Have you ever read Romans? The wages of sin is death, all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God, the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ Hs Son.
I don't see these things as "pop religion". I see it as orthodoxy.

HE DOSE NOT ALWAYS DEAL WITH US ACCORDING TO OUR SINS. ACCORDING TO GODS WORD WE ARE INVITED TO COME BOLDLY TO THE THRONE OF GRACE. YET WE REALIZE TO ENTER INTO THE HOLY PRESENCE OF GOD WE WOULD DIE BECAUSE OF OUR UNRIGHTENEOUS. THEREFORE BY FAITH IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST WE LITERALLY PUT ON HIS ROBE OF RIGHTENOUSS AND ARE INVITED TO COME BEFORE CHRIST WITH OUR PRAYERS WHO THAN MAKES INTERCESSION FOR US UNTO THE FATHER.
IN THE OLD TESTAMENT THE HIGH PRIEST HAD TO FIRST PUT ON THE PRIESTLY GARMENTS , WASH IN THE LAVER, MAKE A SACRIFICE ACCORDING TO THE LAW BEFORE HE COULD ENTER INTER INTO THE HOLY PLACE. WE ALSO IN THE NEW TESTAMENT MUST PUT ON THE REIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST BEFORE WE CAN ENTER INTO HIS PRESANCE.
